Ethylene is a fundamental product in the petrochemical industry. Its output and production technology represent the level of development of a country's petrochemical industry. The ethylene cracking unit is a device for high-temperature cracking of petroleum hydrocarbons to produce high-purity ethylene and propylene. After high-temperature cracking of petroleum hydrocarbons, the gas mixture obtained has complex components. This requires separating ethylene and propylene from the gas mixture. At present, the mainstream separation process in the world is cryogenic separation method.

The so-called cryogenic separation refers to the use of the boiling point differences of each component in a gas mixture, and the use of low-temperature distillation to separate each component one by one. The lowest operating temperature in this separation process is close to -180 ℃, so it is called cryogenic separation technology. This technology is currently the most widely used separation technique in the ethylene industry. Its advantages are: large material processing capacity, reasonable energy utilization, good separation effect, and the purity of ethylene and propylene products can reach over 99.9%. In the process of cryogenic separation, the circulation and pressurization of cryogenic liquids such as ethylene and ethane require cryogenic pumps. At present, the ethylene cryogenic pumps in domestic ethylene cracking units are all imported equipment from abroad, and the domestication rate is almost zero. In recent years, there has been a strong demand for liquid ethylene monomers in China, and Sinopec has built several sets of ethylene monomer loading facilities to meet market demand. The ethylene monomer loading device uses refrigeration technology to convert high-pressure liquid ethylene (17.6x10'Pa, -33 ℃) into atmospheric pressure, low-temperature liquid ethylene (-104 ℃) for road transportation. Its product delivery pump operates similarly to the ethylene cryogenic pump in the ethylene cryogenic separation unit.

Bornemann twin-screw pump technology is a self-priming double end positive displacement pump equipped with external timing gears and bearings. This series of pumps comes in over 80 specifications, designed to ensure complete axial balance of the rotating components and eliminate all metal to metal contact within the pump.


Regardless of viscosity, lubricity, or abrasiveness, they can transport almost any heterogeneous fluid, such as seawater, crude oil, petroleum, asphalt, molasses, lime, acid, alkaline solutions, or hydrocarbons.



principle

During pumping, there is no metal to metal contact inside the pump casing. Even when transporting non lubricating, corrosive, and polluting fluids, it can maintain good pumping performance.


When the pump rotates, the engagement of the two screws and the formation of a chamber in the pump casing. These chambers are filled with pumped fluid and transport it from the suction side of the pump to the higher pressure discharge side.


The design of this pump allows for reverse flow by simply changing the direction of the shaft. The suction side becomes the discharge side, and vice versa, all without requiring any modifications to the pump.
